POPULATION DESCRIPTION

In 2014, Starlight?s board of directors voted to move the concert series to Guthrie Green, a move that has consistently grown our audiences each year since. This move is only our fourth venue in our 75 year history. Our audience is multigenerational, and comes from a variety of socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. Guthrie Green, which is a premiere performance venue, has proven to broaden our already loyal audience. Guthrie Green is located in the heart of the Tulsa Arts District, a vibrant arts and entertainment hub in downtown Tulsa. We will continue efforts aimed at building younger audience members. We have a Junior Board, which is comprised of local area high school musicians, and also our partnership with the University of Tulsa' Camp Band, which also includes local high school musicians. Starlight makes an effort to provide an evening of entertainment. We look for a variety of guest artists, as well as other activities, which tie with the music performance in order to add entertainment or artistic value to the event. One example is of a past performance with the theme ?Night at the Museum?. We partnered with the local visual artists coalition and invited artists to bring their works for viewing and sale. Food and beverages are also available at performances through third-party vendors. Concert repertoire ranges from light classics patriotic music to jazz, Broadway and current pop selections, big band, movie themes, and original commissioned for professional concert band. We promise ?something for everyone? and guarantee an evening of toe-tapping music. This season Starlight has six performances slated at Guthrie Green. Most concerts begin 8pm. Our 2022 season was primarily underwritten by the Oklahoma Arts Council, George Kaiser Family Foundation and the Treeman Family Foundation.
