PROJECT PURPOSE

This project is a matter of health and safety for our citizens. There is only one area in our town that does not have safe drinking water. This would be at the end of Sweetin Lane. So we are asking to extend the water line to reach the end of Sweetin Lane which is 1800". The existing wells are old and contaminated.

We have water analysis reports from Culligan International Company Analytical Laboratory.

POPULATION DESCRIPTION

These families are having to buy bottled water to drink and cook with. Several of these citizens have had to got to Emergency Room due to intestinal issues, infections and skin rashes and discoloration, finger nail discoloration. It also has killed many pets.

PERFORMANCE MEASURING

We have contacted Rural Water District # 14 of Leflore County to assist us with this project. We have the estimate for parts and labor.
