PROJECT PURPOSE

To set up a paging and radio system for the fire department. Our current radio system is the state 800mhz radios which only work within 20 miles of the interstate, not working in low areas and does not have the paging capabilities. Currently we are depending on phone calls and text messages to page out for the fire department for EMS and FIRE calls.

EVIDENCE

The emergency management of Oklahoma recommends a direct paging system for volunteer fire/ems departments. ISO ratings for fire prevention rating is graded heavily on your paging system and response time.

POPULATION DESCRIPTION

Our community is comprised of low-income residents of our county, which is the second lowest income county in the state of Oklahoma. Our residents being so low income and when the covid pandemic hit, many in our area were un-employed from work due to businesses closing such as the local 2 casinos that employ a majority of our residents.

PERFORMANCE MEASURING

This will help in many different ways. 1) Our response time to EMS and FIRE calls will be cut drastically due to a direct page instead of phone/text 2) The fire department will be able to communicate with each other and dispatch even if we are in low lying areas such as the river and creek. 3) Our ISO rating for our town and area will be increased therefore insurance rates decreased due to response time increased.
