Town of Fletcher

PROJECT PURPOSE

A MINI EXCAVATOR IS NEEDED IN ALLEY WAYS AND OTHER TIGHT SPACES WHERE USING A BACKHOE IN NOT POSSIBLE. Mini excavators perform much of the same work as larger wheel and crawler excavators, including digging and moving soil, gravel, sand, and other materials, but because of their compact nature, they are better-suited for small- and medium-sized jobs.

EVIDENCE

At times we do have jobs that require a smaller backhoe to get the job done, at times the location is in an area where a large backhoe cannot get to, and the workers are having to dig my hand and the area needed worked on is reached.

POPULATION DESCRIPTION

Our community was impacted by the pandemic by slowing the process of getting certain items needed to get jobs done or just a hold on the purchase of certain items due to not having the funds to do so. The pandemic has caused a strain on things in general.

PERFORMANCE MEASURING

I did alot of research from different companies on the what the Fletcher Public Works Auth. was needing for certain jobs that was needing a smaller equipment to get certain jobs done. We received several quotes on what an equipment like this would cost.
