PROJECT PURPOSE

The Department of Public Safety, Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) is requesting ARPA funds to purchase twenty (20) Blauer Homeland Defender Suits.

EVIDENCE

The defender suits are used by law enforcement agencies throughout the nation to provide highly effective protection to officers during high-risk events.


POPULATION DESCRIPTION

Homeland Defender suits are OSHA-rated Hazmat suits. They are a Multi-Threat, RC3, XRT, and BRN-94 suit and are designed specifically for operations where speed, comfort and durability are crucial. Certified to the NFPA 1994 Standard on Protective Ensembles for First Responders to Hazardous Materials Emergencies and CBRN Terrorism Incidents, and the NFPA 1992 Standard on Liquid Splash-Protective Ensembles and Clothing for Hazardous Materials Emergencies. These suits provide higher level of protection to operate in tactically demanding "hot zone" and "warm zone" environments. Homeland Defender suits are independently certified to strict design and performance requirements.

PERFORMANCE MEASURING

The statement of work will consist of the purchase of the Blauer Homeland Defender Suits. The measurement will be the purchase and operational readiness of the defender suits.
