PROJECT PURPOSE
The purpose of this project is to increase centralized wastewater treatment capacity through the construction of new sludge boxes and drying systems, expanding our treatment capacity by 40 percent. The increased capacity will allow for additional residential and commercial development.
EVIDENCE
The centralized wastewater treatment facility is operating at maximum capacity prohibiting any opportunity to provide new connections for residential and economic development.
POPULATION DESCRIPTION
The poverty rate for persons living in Marietta is 25.2%, more than 39 percent greater than the poverty level across the entire state of Oklahoma. During the pandemic, as a result of closed schools and persons working from home, water treatment surpassed safety thresholds.
PERFORMANCE MEASURING
Project performance will be measured by the increases in wastewater treatment capacity, and by the increased residential, commercial, and industrial connections.
