PROJECT PURPOSE
This project includes an addition to the existing community center for the Town of Sawyer to include additional office space and an outdoor pavilion. The purpose of this project is to provide the residents of this town and surrounding areas with an outdoor area in which they can gather together for various reasons. An outdoor space is beneficial in maintaining social distance while trying to combat the spread of COVID-19. The additional office space provided by this project would help to limit the contact between staff and others as well.

POPULATION DESCRIPTION
The town of Sawyer has a very low population, and the citizens of the town were greatly impacted by the pandemic as most of the country and surrounding countries have been. The senior center was forced to shut down during the pandemic and due to fear of contracting COVID, most of the residents still avoid the traditional sit down meal provided to them. With the outdoor area this project would provide, the fear of spreading or contracting the virus would be lessened.
