PROJECT PURPOSE
The Department of Public Safety, Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) is requesting ARPA funds to purchase seventy (70) Team Wendy Ballistic Helmets with face shields.
EVIDENCE
The Team Wendy Ballistic Helmets are used during high-risk search warrants, barricaded subjects and during civil insurrection and provide the highest level of protection for law enforcement officers. It also would provide protection against objects being thrown during civil unrest and has the capability to be coupled with hearing protection and air purifying respirators.
POPULATION DESCRIPTION
The added level of protection the Team Wendy Ballistic Helmets provide law enforcement officers, allows officers to focus on the event. Better security equipment for officers enables quicker and more targeted response to incidents, reducing unintentional injuries and reducing the risk of spreading COVID-19 or other contagious viruses.
PERFORMANCE MEASURING
The statement of work will consist of the purchase of the Team Wendy Ballistic Helmet with face shield. The project performance will be measured by the purchase and acceptance of operational readiness of the ballistic helmets.
