PROJECT PURPOSE

The City of Boise City needs to install emergency natural gas generators on two water wells, two Public Works Buildings, City Hall, Fire Department and Police Department. The city only has one well equipped with a diesel generator that is not adequate for extended power outage during periods of high water use. The Public Works buildings house telemetry equipment used to call the wells automatically, and the other three buildings are for housing fire and police equipment and administration.

EVIDENCE

Boise City is centrally located in Cimarron County, The Boise City Volunteer fire department responds to assist the smaller departments in the county as well as other counties and surrounding states. They take tankers of water from Boise City's water supply and return for additional water if needed.


POPULATION DESCRIPTION

Cimarron County is remotely located and sparsely populated. Critical COVID patients had to be transported to hospitals by air, there are no aircraft locally with medical qualifications. The extra time needed to get medical aircraft here for the patient and transported cost valuable time for recovery of the patient. 476 total cases of COVID were reported in Cimarron County, 382 of those cases were in Boise City, 8 total death were reported in Cimarron County 5 of those were in Boise City.

PERFORMANCE MEASURING

If awarded, the City of Boise City will advertise for sealed bids and award the bid to the best qualified bidder,. The project will be monitored and inspected by a resident inspector.
