PROJECT PURPOSE

Our growing city is in desperate need of new fire hydrants. 17 to be exact. We have just improved our ISO rating and fear that without these fire hydrants our citizens, first responders and our rating will suffer immensely during an emergency. Additional funds to purchase these hydrants would create a tremendous opportunity for the great city of Spencer.

EVIDENCE

Working fire hydrants in the City of Spencer is imperative to maintain and improve the quality of life for our citizens. This will help to provide a safe working enviroment for our employees and help to rebuild broken relationships with our citizens. This project will show the citizens, employees and business owners that the city is invested in providing the tools needed to be safe and successful in Spencer.

POPULATION DESCRIPTION

The City of Spencer has been under funded, under resourced and overlooked for years. Replacing our broken fire hydrants will be one step towards growth and have a huge positive impact on the community. This same community who has been identified as a food desert, low quality of life, little to no internet access, little to no medical access and a plethora of other shortcomings. All of those shortcomings were magnified during the pandemic and we are finally looking forward to a gain, to counteract the many losses.

PERFORMANCE MEASURING

Our number one priority is safety. This project comes with months of research. It has become clear to our fire fighters and emergency response teams that these hydrants would improve the overall quality of life for our citizens, and for currents and prospective business owners.
