PROJECT PURPOSE
The Bridges Foundation enhances the lives of adults with developmental disabilities, their families and our community through training, education, employment services, and advocacy. The project we are requesting funding for is to expand our Bridges Outsource Center, a manufacturing and fulfillment center that is a community integrated employment opportunity for adults with disabilities.
EVIDENCE
We currently run this program, but we have outgrown our space and it is not a community centric site. We have multiple corporate partners throughout the community that could validate the success: Hilti, HiCorp, Navistar, Greenheck and more.
POPULATION DESCRIPTION
COVID-19 forced many manufacturers in the Tulsa community to lay off their employees. However, the work quickly returned and many manufacturers are facing staffing challenges to keep up with the demand. Our facility provides community integrated jobs to individuals with developmental disabilities or other barriers to employment in manufacturing and sub assembly. The services we provide to these manufacturers are integral due to staffing constraints. Our project proposal includes expanding into a new facility, hiring staff and purchasing additional equipment to keep up with our growing community contracts.
PERFORMANCE MEASURING
Quality Assurance metrics and turn around times will be used to ensure that this project is meeting customers' (manufacturers) expectations and performing as expected.
