PROJECT PURPOSE
Provide fiber/network service to the Process Technology and Agriculture instructional buildings on the Tonkawa Campus as well as extending fiber to the Failing Park on the Enid Campus.
EVIDENCE
Expanding the network services on the campus will enable NOC to support more career-based, project and research activities at the facilities located outside of the main network area. This will enhance the critical skills in the areas of renewable energy, precision agriculture, and will help to develop innovation within these areas.
POPULATION DESCRIPTION
The community of Tonkawa, Oklahoma which has approximately 3,500 residents in addition to 1,000 students on the Northern Oklahoma College Tonkawa campus that either live in residence halls or commute to campus would be included. The community of Enid, OK which has approximately 55,000 residents and a student population of 800 students on the Northern Oklahoma College Enid campus that either live in residence halls or commute to campus would be included. The pandemic force many College and community events and services to be cancelled, postponed or moved to a virtual setting. Student enrollment experienced a significant decrease in the academic year of 2020-2021 due to the impact of COVID. Community participation in college events was eliminated due to spacing requirements and limitations on facility usage due to the pandemic.
PERFORMANCE MEASURING
Measurement of performance include the following: The number of students accessing the nodes located in the facilities; the number of sensors accessing the nodes located in the facilities; use of internet during events such as livestock camps, livestock shows, and research equipment applications.
