PROJECT PURPOSE

To install insa-valves throughout the city in order to shut off water to specific areas for repairs. This is especially helpful when there are main breaks in order to isolate areas to be able to repair safely and efficiently without shutting off large areas of the city

EVIDENCE

The City has installed a few insta valves around town when and where resources allow. Insta valves allow for a safer work place especially in deep trenches where workers lives are in danger and bank shoring is needed. These valves also allow the city to turn off fewer households and businesses in times of needed water repair.

POPULATION DESCRIPTION

Most citizens and businesses have been impacted in one way or another by COVID. Those who have been most negatively impacted are the poor, disabled, elderly, very young. These populations will benefit by having more reliable, clean drinking water- particularly remote workers and those who require water to run medical devices.

PERFORMANCE MEASURING

This project will be measured when all funds have been expended and Insta-valves have been installed. The program will be complete when final submissions are reported to OKARPA
