PROJECT PURPOSE

The purpose of The Chosen House project is to build affordable low income housing in rural Oklahoma for women. In Lincoln County, the median income for males is $28,125.00 versus $19,397 for females.

EVIDENCE

"Per capita, rural towns in Oklahoma have higher rates of substance abuse and mental health disorders in areas of opioid, alcohol, methamphetamine, heroin, PTSD, depression and anxiety. " According to Data USA, 16.2% of the population for whom poverty status is determined in Chandler. (478 out of 2.94k people) live below the poverty line, a number that is higher than the national average of 12.3%.


POPULATION DESCRIPTION

Before the pandemic it is documented in rural areas, there is a lack of treatment capacity and facilities and low income housing for individuals. Now, the challenges are still there, but with an increase of people needing assistance with housing and treatment.

PERFORMANCE MEASURING

Our program will consist of ten ladies in a nine month program. Input: The partners location and site, staffing and permits. Activities: Facilitate partnership, identify participants that qualify. Outcome: Awareness of clients and some referrals.
