PROJECT PURPOSE

Control system, IT and physical security improvements for WLMCD. While WLMCD has made improvements in the subject areas, more remains. This project will allow for remote on/off controls for two towns, which will also reduce the risk of water hammer. It will also help finish the controls and IT security system upgrade. Since the system is largely remote, cameras and alarms will be installed. Improved compressed air dryers will be installed. Improved antennas will be installed to transmit all of the data. Existing antennas are old and need to be replaced. Better air dryers are needed to improve the dryer technology. See item 6 on attached sheets.

EVIDENCE

WLMCD is at risk of physical intrusion due to 9 remote locations. Cyber intrusion is better now than a year ago. We need to assure robust IT and physical security.

POPULATION DESCRIPTION

All communities were impacted by the pandemic, generally by workforce productivity and availability. The bad winter freeze hurt as well. Part of this project provides for IT functions to see the temperature of the buildings and provide backup heat control.

PERFORMANCE MEASURING

Most of the equipment will be off-the-shelf with the engineering done. The antennas will need some engineering for the supports. WLMCD staff is experienced and adept at collecting data for reporting
