PROJECT PURPOSE

ARPA-VAR-2104 - Marketing - Agency Wide - This project would be to develop a marketing strategy for deploying and implementing a new brand for the agency which is currently under development and includes promoting the 24 facilities and services statewide. This would be carried out over 3 years.

EVIDENCE

The Oklahoma Historical Society has over 24 wonderful sites and various services at each which have never had a marketing budget. Too many Oklahoman's are unaware of these facilities and services in their communities. The would encourage travel and tourism in the state.


POPULATION DESCRIPTION

The communities and local businesses around the facilities were impacted by the state shutdown and the decline of tourism as a result of the COVID pandemic. The local communities, municipalities and businesses lost revenue from sales, lodging, taxes and other tourism related benefits. This project benefits the state by encouraging and promoting in-state tourism.

PERFORMANCE MEASURING

Project performance will be measured by visitation statistics with our current monthly statistical tracking system and tracking earned income at the site as well as Increased visitation, website traffic, research requests, and program attendance. We expect an increase in gross revenue by 25%.
