PROJECT PURPOSE
This project would construct a municipal wastewater land application system for beneficial reuse of treated wastewater. The existing lagoons are undersized and frequently overflow which is a threat to the health and safety of the public. This illegal discharge has resulted in a Consent Order from the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality.
EVIDENCE
An engineering report was prepared in 2010 and approved by the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality that validated the proposed project would intervene and eliminate the sewer overflows.
POPULATION DESCRIPTION
This project will benefit the entire Town of Bromide which is a low to moderate income community. The need for remote working and quarantining has made more people stay in the community with increased risk to exposure to overflowing sewer.
PERFORMANCE MEASURING
The sewer lagoons are intermittently overflowing, which is an illegal discharge. This project will eliminate the overflows which is a measure of project performance. The plan is simple observance of project construction.
