PROJECT PURPOSE
This project will replace old deficient water lines with new PVC water lines to provide a much more reliable and resilient water distribution system. This will improve public safety with new Fire Hydrants and mitigate water outages due to frequent breaks in the current system.
EVIDENCE
The water system has frequent water main breaks due to the age of the system. Krebs is an old mining community established before statehood and has old water distribution infrastructure. Repairs are now required that are beyond everyday maintenance and operations and water lines need replaced. Financial interventions are needed for Krebs to replace the water lines.
POPULATION DESCRIPTION
Krebs is a small community with limited ability to finance projects through the traditional programs.
PERFORMANCE MEASURING
The community will consult with an engineering firm, DEQ and OWRB to complete the proposed project. The progress of the project will be measured by the linear foot of pipe installed, tested and accepted as complete by the KUA board.
