PROJECT PURPOSE
FHH seeks to improve access to mental health services foster/adoptive families and Medicaid beneficiaries by providing premium pay for essential outpatient mental health workers responding to the public health emergency. The goal of therapy is to aid clients in trauma recovery and overcoming mental health challenges allowing overall well-being. Our person-centered services are individualized to efficiently and effectively meet mental health needs while focusing on the whole family. The COVID-19 pandemic has created unprecedented challenges to mental health service delivery including clinician turnover and burnout, coupled with an increase in need for outpatient therapy in our nation. This has cast a burden upon our staff to deliver therapeutic services with fewer team members. Understaffing has also led to longer wait for families needing care. To continue to meet the demand and care for families at the highest level of service for therapy services with qualified, dedicated clinicians, FHH is seeking outside funding to fill one open clinical position and provide premium pay for current staff. This will prevent staff from turning to higher paying private sector and therefore abandoning Medicaid beneficiaries who need mental health services while creating a 17% increase in the number of clients served.

PERFORMANCE MEASURING
Through regular evaluation, the clinician monitors the client?s progress as they work together to achieve treatment goals. This regular evaluation is done through direct report from client and/or guardians and psychological assessments applicable to their reason for treatment. A year-end survey is administered to determine the client?s perceptions of program effectiveness in areas of improved family relationships, individual coping skills, communication, and emotional regulation. Quarterly, essential workers are given staff surveys to explore their present levels of workplace satisfaction and burnout.
