PROJECT PURPOSE

The Department of Public Safety, Driver License Services Division currently has an on-line portal to aid in the renewal of driver licenses and/or identification cards. The back-end of the portal is still a manual process. This project would allow the Department to fully automate the on-line renewal system and eliminate the need for manual processing, thereby decreasing the time it takes to process each renewal application.

EVIDENCE

Many states have moved to on-line portals with success for customer facing services. The on-line portal will eliminate the need for any Oklahoma citizen to appear in person at a DPS office, thereby reducing the spread of COVID-19 or any other similar contagious virus.

POPULATION DESCRIPTION

Implementing on-line portals for customer facing services would reduce, if not eliminate, the need for the Department to conduct renewal services face-to-face. This will greatly reduce the possible spread of COVID-19 or other transmittable diseases, keeping both the employee and the public safer.

PERFORMANCE MEASURING

The statement of work will consist of developing an on-line portal to be used by any Oklahoma citizen to apply for a renewal of their current Oklahoma driver license or identification card. The project performance will be measured by the acceptance of business rules, configuration, user accepted testing, and confirmation of the on-line portal implementation.
