PROJECT PURPOSE
The Department of Public Safety, Driver License Services Division is requesting ARPA funds to develop on on-line Knowledge Testing portal. This portal will allow any person applying for an Oklahoma driver license for the first time to take the knowledge test on-line reducing the need for a person to appear at a DPS office. The on-line testing portal will also be used for individuals that are required to re-test due to failure to meet minimum standards for driving privileges.
EVIDENCE
Many states have moved to on-line portals with success for customer facing services. The on-line portal will eliminate the need for any Oklahoma citizen to appear in person at a DPS office, thereby reducing the potential to spread COVID-19 or other contagious viruses.
POPULATION DESCRIPTION
Implementing on-line portals for customer facing services would reduce, if not eliminate, the need for the Department to conduct driving status services face-to-face. This will greatly reduce the possible spread of COVID-19 or other transmittable diseases or contagious viruses, keeping both the employee and the public safer.
PERFORMANCE MEASURING
The statement of work will consist of developing an on-line portal to be used by any person applying for an Oklahoma driver license for the first time or those requiring to be re-tested. The project performance will be measured by acceptance of business rules, configuration of the system, user accepted testing, and confirmation of the implementation of the on-line portal.
