PROJECT PURPOSE

This project would be to remodel a facility owned by the county to inhabit a new urgent care facility and add ambulance bays to the building. We no longer have a hospital in our area as of 2007 and we have a growing need for an urgent care facility. This site is being looked at by Stillwater Medical Board to partner with Pawnee Ambulance Service to provide emergency care for our rural community.

EVIDENCE

During the pandemic our population had no access to emergency care in our area. Pre pandemic we also had this issue of no close emergency care for our rural population. We are the county seat and have numerous neighboring rural communities who would utilize a small urgent care facility.

POPULATION DESCRIPTION

Our elderly population and our Pawnee Nation population were the most disproportionately impacted by the pandemic in our community. Our elderly were in desperate need of emergency care during this pandemic.

PERFORMANCE MEASURING

The City of Pawnee will work with Stillwater Medical to develop the process for project performance. We will also form a Pawnee Medical Complex Board that will oversee the operations of the city aspect of this collaboration.
