PROJECT PURPOSE

This is a sewer line expansion project from 146th to 156th Streets north on Hwy 169. This project will open the area up to future growth of economic development initiatives along the east side of Collinsville north. This project will have a long-term impact on the future development of Collinsville. Some businesses have already seen the potential and have moved their business along this 169 corridor. The sewer line expansion project will attract more businesses in the very near future.

EVIDENCE

The conceptual cost estimate will be uploaded. We have met with our engineers, Holloway, Updike and Bellen for project discussions. This project will open the 169 North corridor for future growth and development. This will create jobs, increase sales tax and provide better quality of life for our citizens.

POPULATION DESCRIPTION

Our community was very negatively impacted by the pandemic. Businesses closed, some for a while others permanently. Employees lost their jobs or had their hours cut dramatically. Add to the pandemic the February winter weather event and many citizens were in dire need of employment. This project will create a more healthy economic position for job creation and retention. People need to work and want to stay closer to home to do that now more than ever. This project will generate employment opportunities, increase sales tax and provide a better quality of life for our citizens,

PERFORMANCE MEASURING

The City of Collinsville has completed several of these infrastructure projects throughout my sixteen years as city manager. We are very familiar with the inner workings of these projects. We have always kept all documents in order and very detailed. We will continue to measure project performance including collecting the required data. We are very diligent with required paperwork and financial reporting.
