PROJECT PURPOSE
Sanitary sewer and mains to Collinsville Industrial Park. Presently, there is no sewer main to our Industrial Park. Many of the businesses there want and need sewer services. This sewer expansion project will help present businesses expand and also draw new businesses to the park. The project will also serve businesses that are located in the surrounding area. This will help economic development growth in the area. This project has already been engineered so is shovel ready.
EVIDENCE
The city has been working with a few entities trying to get a grant/additional funding to help construct this project. However, we haven't been able to come up with the total cost of the project. This project will open up the south Collinsville corridor for future growth and development. We have so many needs and not near enough funds for the water and sewer projects that need to be done in our city. Our sales tax dollars don't even cover the police and fire department budgets. This project has already been engineered so it is shovel ready.
POPULATION DESCRIPTION
The Collinsville community...citizens and businesses were impacted negatively by the pandemic. Most businesses struggled and some are still struggling. Many received PPP loans and other available resources just to survive. Some citizens lost jobs due to the pandemic or their hours were cut way back. Then add the February epic winter weather event that left many unable to pay their utility bills. This project will benefit growth and future developments that will provide jobs for many. This project is a win-win for our community, our citizens and the State of Oklahoma.
PERFORMANCE MEASURING
The City has had several sewer and water line projects over the sixteen years I've been city manager. Our system infrastructure is very old. The city was incorporated in 1899. Many of the old lines are clay and falling apart. We have experience in measuring project performance and collecting required data.
