PROJECT PURPOSE

The Town of Vera is in need of a new fire Station/Community Center for the residents of Vera and the surrounding area. Our current fire station is 30 years old and has no training area, meeting room, restroom or in-door plumbing. This was submitted as an idea 3-29-22.

EVIDENCE

This new facility will greatly improve our ability to respond to the public's health emergencies, and allow for training and educational purposes for the Fire/EMS personnel as well as the public.

POPULATION DESCRIPTION

This project will benefit the Town of Vera, Oklahoma and the surrounding areas. The town has a 7 to 10 percent Native American and Hispanic population that were adversely effected by the pandemic. Vera also has many low income families in our community This new facility will greatly improve the ability to first respond to health emergencies to this population. It will also provide a meeting place for enrichment opportunities.

PERFORMANCE MEASURING

The Town Board will track: 1. Schedule Variance: to ensure the project is on schedule. 2. Cost Variance: keep the project on budget. The Town of Vera will collect the programmatic data using Word and GANTT chart with Excel spreadsheets.
