PROJECT PURPOSE
The purpose of the project will be to rehabilitate Wewoka Lake Dam. The dam is in poor condition and serves a population of 3,500. The primary purpose of this dam is the water source for the City of Wewoka. The funding will be used for rehabilitation to reduce the dam's risk of failure and preserving Wewoka's water source.
EVIDENCE
The community is in the process of working with an engineering firm and OWRB to complete the proposed project. The project performance will be measured by the improvement in the condition rating of the dam, and therefore the reduction of risk of downstream communities and water customers.
POPULATION DESCRIPTION
Wewoka Lake Dam has the primary purpose of being the water source for the City of Wewoka and the secondary purpose of tourism. For this reason, Wewoka Lake Dam is a critical resource for the City of Wewoka. Wewoka Lake Dam is 76 years old, and its condition has declined over time. Repairs are now required that are beyond everyday operation and maintenance. Financial interventions are needed for the City of Wewoka to rehabilitate Wewoka Lake Dam.

Wewoka completed a sewer plant project. The measuring performance was Wewoka be removed from DEQ consent orders and the improvement of our sewer plant.
