PROJECT PURPOSE

We are a non-profit elementary school which serves low-income students .Our basic needs are more funding for staff allocations, programs that will support teaching and learning, needed PPE supplies and equipment, and resources that will support the staff with teaching and facilitate learning process. With extra funding we would be able to hire additional staff to work with small groups of students that need extra support. We could also hire interventionists that would work with staff by providing professional development, and they would do small group pull-outs as well to help strengthen learning loss due to COVID.

EVIDENCE

Recent test data shows that many of our students are performing two or more grade levels below proficiency level.

POPULATION DESCRIPTION

Due to COVID the doors of our schools have closed, and we have implemented distance learning. Children need to be in school not only for academic purposes, but for socialization as well. We can't address the needs of the whole child if our efforts are being hindered by the pandemic. Our community suffers when our children don't get a proper education. The results for our students are very damaging. Some of them won't be college-ready, or equipped with necessary skills to thrive and be a difference maker in the world in which we live. The relationship building aspect suffers when children don't have in-person learning.

PERFORMANCE MEASURING

We will use achievement test data results to show academic performance and to measure if our implementation efforts were successful.
