PROJECT PURPOSE

Infinity Generation Generals (IGG) school is an entity under Oklahoma Youth Literacy Program (OKYLP). The Private School was recently awarded State Accreditation by Oklahoma Department of Education to include receiving the Lindsey Nicole Henry Scholarship approval to be able to accept students that are the states most vulnerable students. The project is to purchase land to be able to create an environment where students from all walks of life may have the chance to co-mingle. The atmosphere currently for students is we mix the leaders with those that need the motivation to become leaders. This complex will house education all year around, provide various athletic sports and bring back home economics. Many students do not learn on the same level and IGG/OKYLP has reinvented way to make learning fun and comprehensive especially during this recent disaster related to COVID-19.

EVIDENCE

This new method to learning in the ways we have exposed students has caused a major increase in students? abilities to learn, have better test scores and be well rounded individuals.

POPULATION DESCRIPTION

Our program is in the heart of Northeast Oklahoma in the 73111-zip code. Our students already had a disadvantage as most of their families were already experiencing poverty not to mention a lot of their parents were undereducated. When Covid-19 hit the community, it was truly devasting as many families lost jobs while others had to still work and no where to send their students. Even with chrome books going home many of the students in our area were the last to receive them. When students did receive the chrome books many parents and guardians had no knowledge of teaching their students therefore, many fell behind. Food became an issue, yet we were able to feed the students and their siblings. We were able to provide a sense of hope to several families and currently are still doing so.

PERFORMANCE MEASURING

COVID-19 brought about many challenges families, businesses and the entire world was not expecting. We realized online learning was a huge disadvantage to students and their parents as we had to go back and correct some behaviors that students obtained during their time away from in class learning. Many students fell behind and as a result of this we had to come up with creative ways to get students on or above par.
