PROJECT PURPOSE
One Choice Away is seeking to expand additional opportunities for Oklahomas suffering from substance abuse disorders by providing safe housing, encouraging financial independence, and teaching important life skills.

POPULATION DESCRIPTION
Addiction and alcoholism affects people in various population groups. The Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services state that Oklahoma is ranked 2nd in the nation with people living with substance abuse disorders. The American Addiction Centers reports 1 out of every 8 adult suffer from substance abuse. The American Psychological Association states that 13% of Americans admit to starting or increasing substance abuse since the onset of Covid-19.
PERFORMANCE MEASURING
We have communicated with various owners of local sober living facilities and identified there is a high demand for alternatives. Through personal experience, we have lived in various sober living programs and have discovered there is a lack of preparation for continuing a life of sobriety after completion. We concluded the difference we can make by providing additional knowledge to ensure continuous sobriety.
