PROJECT PURPOSE
The Blue River Public Fishing and Hunting Area (BRPFHA) is visited by as many as 115,000 outdoor enthusiasts annually. Because of increased visitation over the past 18 months, the roads within the area have fallen in disrepair. We propose to repair the roads by replacing the existing asphalt. If these repairs are not initiated, there will be negative economic consequences due to decreased use of the area.
EVIDENCE
Evaluation by staff have determined that roads are in need of repair.
POPULATION DESCRIPTION
The BRPFHA is visited by outdoor enthusiasts Statewide, as well as from surrounding states.
PERFORMANCE MEASURING
Staff will continue to monitor and record site visits by the public through car counters and in-person surveys. The project will deemed successful if visits remain stable or increase over time.
