PROJECT PURPOSE

Replacement of vault toilets with new facilities across the state park system.

EVIDENCE

Vault toilets are located in areas that are prone to flooding. Many vaults are failing, which threatens water quality of nearby lakes and rivers. COVID-related increases in park visitation have increased usage, increasing the potential for failure.

POPULATION DESCRIPTION

Oklahoma's state parks are located in rural communities, most of which are low-income. Improvements to the parks will spur increased visitation, which generates increased economic activity in these communities.

PERFORMANCE MEASURING

OTRD has a capital projects team that manages the agency's construction projects. We will utilize an existing design-build contract to implement ARPA-funded capital projects.
