PROJECT PURPOSE
The purpose of the project is establishing infrastructure to deliver fiber to the home service to customers in rural Pittsburg and Latimer county. Many customers in the rural areas of the region have no access to DSL, cable or other high speed broadband aside from fixed terrestrial broadband which is limited in its ability to service every home due to terrain and susceptibility to storm damage. Investing in fiber will secure a long term benefit to the region, increasing property values, facilitating access to telehealth, remote working and distance learning, providing phone service and allowing customers who have previously been unable to be serviced due to high build out costs.

POPULATION DESCRIPTION
According to the US Census currently only 73% of Latimer and 79% of Pittsburg have access to high speed internet with those in the rural areas being affected most by the lack of infrastructure. Many of these households have been disproportionately affected by the shift to digital services for work, health and school simply by virtue of their distance from larger cities. When the pandemic forced residents to learn and work remotely from home, many of these rural families had to bring their children to the local libraries for access to the internet and forced families in the region to consider relocating for work from home opportunities and distance learning. In Pittsburg and Latimer counties rural communities exist that have never had access to high speed internet. Latimer county currently has no hospital and limited access to doctors, making telehealth a vital service for those in the county. Included in the service areas would be the US Spanish American War Veterans Colony and the Veterans of Foreign Wars homesites south of Wilburton and all the residents there are Veterans and their family and they have never had access to high speed internet.
PERFORMANCE MEASURING
Our billing software will allow us to compile a map of serviced homes and businesses, allowing visual representation of deployment. The plan for collecting the required data includes record keeping of feet of fiber installed, homes lit, and usage statistics of internet transport.
