PROJECT PURPOSE

Reckless Saints of Nowhere, Inc. is a 501(c)(3), located in Pryor, Oklahoma, which works with people addicted to drugs. Over the past 4 years, Reckless has helped 6,000+ clients find support. This program is self-funded, with a budget today of $200,000 annually. Today, COVID is a crisis for Oklahoma businesses and the addicted. Employers struggle to find workers and the addicted struggle for support and opportunities. To improve both challenges, Oklahoma businesses have partnered with our prison Work Release program to provide second chance employment during and after graduation for our clients. To meet this need, we are requesting a one-time grant for $1,800,000 to Obtain and staff an additional 100-person facility. Which will allow us to provide housing and services to our clients. Once complete, this will also be self-funded. In Oklahoma, the annual cost to incarcerate an individual in 2020 was $23,513 and the cost for drug-related offenses was an estimated $39,008,565. In the next 24 months, our program seeks to reduce the incarceration cost and earn the State income from payroll taxes. With approval, you?ll be investing in an initiative that would decrease the current drug-related prison population by 0.5% and save $2,351,330 annually from imprisonment costs.

EVIDENCE

Oklahoma has a significant amount of unfulfilled jobs, there are over 21,000 individuals incarcerated, and transitioning individuals from prison relief programs has poor relapse rates.

POPULATION DESCRIPTION

Substance abuse individuals and their families as well as Oklahoma businesses are the primary populations that have been impacted within our client base. With the need and requirement to stay home, and loss of many jobs, the needed income and positive distraction of employment were no longer there. According to Tulsa World, Oklahoma saw an increase of 22% in drug-related fatalities in 2020, and Oklahoma's labor participation rate was one of the lowest in the country.

PERFORMANCE MEASURING
