PROJECT PURPOSE

The Town of Locust Grove will be completing our new Water Treatment Facility in the fall of 2022. The Water Treatment Plant will be increasing capacity from 500,000 gallons to 1 million gallons per day. The Town would like to replace the main transmission water line from the Water Treatment Plant into the Town limits which consists of 10,000 lineal feet. When replacing the water line, the diameter will be increased from 8" to 12" to improve water flow and increase overall system pressure. It will also allow us to extend our system to customers who are currently using well water and provide them with clean water.

EVIDENCE

Our community has shown growth in the past 5 years. This project would continue to help our Town grow and bring economic development to our Town. As our community grows it brings more jobs to our Town.

POPULATION DESCRIPTION

During the pandemic our community was hit hard because a lot of our customers lost their jobs or were unable to work. We didn't shut off any water to our customers because of their welfare and health. We had to put projects on hold because of lack of supplies, materials and labor. A lot of our water customers are on fixed incomes and low poverty families.

PERFORMANCE MEASURING

If we were able to complete this project we could increase our customer base. We could also provide better service which could help our community to grow and add more businesses and residential homes to our system.
