PROJECT PURPOSE

1) Designed to enable work, education, and health monitoring. Electric and Broadband infrastructure will enable us to employ a greater number of staff and faculty, and we are a licensed educational institution. Broadband connectivity would enable our students and staff to utilize many of our behavioral health resources we use to monitor our student and graduate population. 2) Address a critical need arising/exacerbated because of COVID-19. UHP is an educational institution that primarily serves the Veteran community. Our Nation?s Veterans have been severely impacted by the negative affects of the COVID-19 virus. Many are unemployed, or struggling to find work because of the toll the virus has taken on our country. Many Veterans have had to postpone, or put on hold their educational goals due to schools closing and personal finances, not to mention the terrible affects all of these things have had on their mental health. At UHP we help Veterans find their purpose, which helps them refocus both their personal and professional life. We also provide resources and training to help them find employment, combined with our lifetime aftercare program which provides a holistic approach to both physical and mental well being. 3) The project must address a critical community need. With Veteran unemployment, mental health crisis, and suicide rates being at an all-time high, we believe serving the Veteran community is absolutely critical. Electric and broadband infrastructure will enable UHP to open its doors to more Veterans than ever before, and help us reach our goal of reaching as many Veterans as possible. We have been looking at ways to expand our campus, and both electric and broadband services would be a massive undertaking for the university by itself.

POPULATION DESCRIPTION

Rural Oklahoma has been disproportionately impacted economically by COVID-19. Many Oklahomans have lost their jobs, or have seen a significant reduction in wages during this time. UHP will create countless jobs, not to mention the revenue it will bring to the surrounding areas. The University will not only employ Oklahomans from this area, but will benefit the surrounding economy in order to support its large campus, employees, and more than 1000 students per year.

PERFORMANCE MEASURING

UHP is working with NOEC and Bolt, and we have a proposal detailing all the metrics for the project. All these details are contained in the proposal, and will be included via PDF
