PROJECT PURPOSE

Development of additional interpretive and recreational programming across state park system to respond to increased park visitation.

EVIDENCE

Park visitation has increased by 2.5 million over the last year, increasing the demand for interpretive programming. Families with children are requesting programming to augment virtual school.

POPULATION DESCRIPTION

Many park visitors are from low-income, rural communities near the parks. These families visit parks as a low-cost option for vacation and recreation.

PERFORMANCE MEASURING

OTRD tracks visitation and participation in interpretive programming.
