PROJECT PURPOSE
Replace a deteriorating bridge and spillway. The bridge is on a major access road for recreation, education, entertainment and agriculture needs for our community. The current bridge is attached to the spillway of our lake in our city park and as the bridge has deteriorated it has caused damage to the spillway. This lake and spillway is a vital part of our storm water system that feeds into the North Canadian River. The lake also provides recreation and conservation for our community. The loss of this bridge and/or spillway will impact our community in multiple ways including a major economic impact.

POPULATION DESCRIPTION
Being in rural Oklahoma this lake and bridge is used by several communities in NW Oklahoma. During the pandemic the use of our facilities for student activities, entertainment and special events was eliminated and the revenue for our community was impacted greatly. We host several school sports on our recreation area, agricultural shows, rodeos for both youth and adults and community gatherings. This bridge connects the access to the rodeo grounds, the water park, the County Event Center, municipal golf course and daily recreation to the park. These events and activities draw people from around the area and the United States which is a big part of our economic impact for revenue.
PERFORMANCE MEASURING
The city will track this specific project separate from all other projects. We have already contracted an engineering firm to design and identify a project cost. If approved, this project then will go through the required bidding process to assure the project meets all bidding laws. During the project the inspections and oversight will be from in house personal along with a representative from the engineering firm. All invoices will be through a pay app system to track progress and to assure all costs are legitimate. All of these process will be monitored and approved by the council.
