PROJECT PURPOSE

Due to the need of increased labs during the ongoing outbreak of COVID-19 our in-house laboratory is not adequate for the demand of labs that need to be run daily. We also are in need fo some new laboratory equipment and additional square feet for social distancing during work hours.

EVIDENCE

During the very beginning of the COVID-19 crisis, we were working to make sure a service could be provided to our community and surrounding communities. COVID-19 testing became critical and we quickly learned that we must get testing in-house to provide the best care to our patients. We were successful in getting this accomplished and have been on the frontlines through the pandemic. Offering 24 to 48 hour COVID-19 testing as well as antibody testing.

POPULATION DESCRIPTION

We are a county hospital and serve a 12 county region in Southwest Oklahoma. In the beginning, we were the ONLY hospital in our area accepting COVID-19 patients and became the go-to location for those that were critically ill. We were also the only lab that could obtain the necessary equipment to run 23 to 48 hour COVID Testing for our patients. That was due to our incredible lab. We serve an increased population of military and rural patients.

PERFORMANCE MEASURING

Outcomes will be measured by the number of COVID-19 tests we run as well as a variety of other testing we provide to our patients. We can deliver patient statistics on how many patients are seen each day and if they were COVID positive.
