PROJECT PURPOSE

One of the Department of Public Safety's goals is to provide a safer and more functional vehicle for Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) Troopers. The reduction of Troopers has required many of them to take on additional assignments and duties. The Department normally assigns vehicles based on duty assignment, so with additional duty assignments, the types of vehicles assigned has been reevaluated. This request is to purchase 75 Dodge Durango vehicles to be utilized by OHP Emergency Response Team to accommodate the increase of transporting additional law enforcement equipment.
