PROJECT PURPOSE

Purpose of Green Country Habitat for Humanity is to provide affordable housing to households that have an income of 80% AMI or less. Further, we provide discounted retail operations for home materials through our ReStore. The revenue made from the ReStore aids in covering overhead and general expenses for the organization so that the bulk of fundraising revenue can be applied directly to our homeownership endeavors.

EVIDENCE

During the height of the pandemic, we lost revenue from our main fundraising event, as well as the donors associated with that event. We further lost revenue as a result of our retail outlets being closed. Continuing repercussions of the pandemic include delays in construction materials and labor, as well as the outrageous increases in materials pricing which has crippled our ability to provide affordable housing.

POPULATION DESCRIPTION

Tulsa Habitat for Humanity provides owner-occupied housing for families having an income of 80% AMI or less. This population has been virtually priced out of the homeownership market, and rents have increased beyond compare. We must continue to stand in this gap to provide the foundation that is so critical to stability and wealth accumulation.
