PROJECT PURPOSE
Factory Obscura is a collaborative, women-owned B-corporation, employing Oklahoma artists. In 2017, Factory Obscura set out to create a never-before-seen art experience for Oklahoma?a large-scale, hands-on, immersive art wonderland. This project evolved to become MIX-TAPE, a 6,000 sqft repurposed building bursting with mind-bending, explorable art. Our need at this time is to increase Mix-Tape?s capacity at our location in downtown Oklahoma City. Within our building, we intend to expand the installation to include a unique event space and an immersive micro art hotel. The event space will host large scale immersive art performances and private special events for audiences of up to 400 people. The micro hotel will feature eight immersive art rooms to offer guests an overnight experience like no other in the world. In alignment with our goal of lifting more Oklahomans into thriving wage jobs, we will employ artists, creatives, and hospitality specialists. This expansion will increase our audience reach and taxable revenue, advance free access and programming for school groups and groups with special needs, and support Mix-Tape?s role as a leader in the worldwide experience economy.

POPULATION DESCRIPTION
Multiple state and community populations will benefit from this project. During the construction phase, our expansion will generate jobs benefitting our state?s creative and hospitality workforces, specifically local artists and creatives - a community disproportionately impacted by the pandemic. Employment opportunities for our creative sector will have a positive impact on our city and region, not only in terms of direct economic and social well-being, but also in terms of mental health, civic pride, and cultural diversity. We will also employ local designers, accountants, administrative assistants, front of house staff, hospitality specialists, and construction contractors. When operational, we envision creating 10 new permanent jobs at thriving wages with benefits ($17-$25 for hourly employees, $32K-$60K per year for salaried employees, and $50K-$150K per year for management). Beyond this, we see numerous other channels for positive social impact on local populations. We are especially committed to expanding opportunities for all public school children to experience cost-free field trips to Mix-Tape and receive greater access to expanded programming. Finally, downtown Oklahoma City, and in particular Mix-Tape?s immediate neighborhood, stand to benefit from the urban regeneration that will stem from this project.
PERFORMANCE MEASURING
Our primary process for measuring project performance is through data gathered from ticket and retail sales. This data allows us to monitor revenue growth, measure our facility/event attendance and demographics, and quantify our community impact and performance?especially in terms of public school children who have been able to visit and participate in our programs for free. Sales analysis also helps us track the number of guests and tourist dollars we are drawing from out-of-state. We use this data to guide and improve our programs, and plan future events, services, and marketing.
