PROJECT PURPOSE

Most of the population of 1760 of the town of Luther does not have access to broadband. This takes a heavy social and economic toll on our residents keeping them from participating in remote work, distance learning and the digital economy. This is especially true during the time of the ongoing pandemic. Centranet in Collaboration with the town of Luther is requesting funds from the State of Oklahoma and is committed to build FTTH to every household in the town. This is a last mile project that will provide access to up to gigabit speed broadband to 100% of the households in Luther. We are requesting $3,653,979.75 from the state for this project and will invest $1,217,993.25 of our money to complete the project.

POPULATION DESCRIPTION

Luther has no access to high speed broadband which takes a social and economic toll on the population. The pandemic has aggravated this by requiring people to engage in remote work and children to engage in distance learning. Without high speed internet this is not possible.

PERFORMANCE MEASURING

The project performance will be measured by milestones during a 12 month time-frame. These milestones are discussed in detail in the Project Narrative Document that is attached. The project will be completed within 12 months.
