PROJECT PURPOSE
Revitalization and maintenance along 1 Mile of Ed Noble Parkway commercial corridor. This project would include grading and beautification of landscape along the corridor, installation of Multi-Modal path to accommodate pedestrian and cyclist accessibility, and overlay of existing Asphalt pavement. This project would provide increased accessibility and visibility to the corridor bordering I-35.
EVIDENCE
Revitalization projects such as the one described in this application have been wildly successful nationwide as they support increased accessibility throughout the corridor to multiple modes of transportation as well as providing more aesthetic appeal to investors and consumers alike.
POPULATION DESCRIPTION
This project will greatly benefit some of the most economically impacted members of the community by revitalizing the corridor in which they choose to operate their business. The corridor described houses retail businesses, hospitality businesses, restaurants, and professional businesses. Throughout the pandemic these business owners have had to endure significant impacts including loss of revenue, limitations of service, supply chain disruption, and loss of labor force.
PERFORMANCE MEASURING
The described project has been identified through historical performance in which the corridor in question houses a fairly large array of empty brick and mortar store fronts, incomplete lot development, and loss of revenue due to the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic.
