PROJECT PURPOSE
Development and execution of a Water Quality and Management Plan for Oklahoma State Parks, to include actions to improve lake quality, improve fish/waterfowl habitat and manage runoff. Includes dam maintenance.
EVIDENCE
OTRD manages Lake Murray, Lake Carlton and large expanses of watershed that flow into, or are, the water sources for municipal systems. The agency lacks a plan for ensuring water quality within its areas of responsibility.
POPULATION DESCRIPTION
Rural water systems could be negatively impacted by the lack of organized/intentional stewardship of watersheds within the state park system.
PERFORMANCE MEASURING
OTRD would work with DEQ and OWRB to develop plan and implementation steps. OTRD has a capital projects team that manages the agency's construction projects. We will utilize an existing design-build contract to implement ARPA-funded capital projects.
