PROJECT PURPOSE

(ODOC Tracking #202111-002 - submitted by Jason Bryant, Chief Administrator of Institutions)
EVIDENCE
Sources that would validate the project would be an overall decline of Oklahoma incarcerates, fewer incarcerates with a lower defined risk/crime, increase community engagement, crime reduction, recidivism rates/arrest rates.
POPULATION DESCRIPTION
The community that would benefit from this program are incarcerated persons who were remanded in custody by the judicial system. A significant percentage of this community lives with mental illness and has a history of abuse and neglect. This community was affected by the pandemic due to the inability to practice true social distancing thus increasing the risk of infection for inmates and employees.
