PROJECT PURPOSE

The purpose of this project is to increase water production and storage capacity through the construction of a new water well and a 300,000-gallon storage tank, and the refurbishment of existing water storage.

EVIDENCE

Current production and storage infrastructure does not provide capacity for new connections. Consistently, the demand for water exceeds the allowable usage threshold.

POPULATION DESCRIPTION

The poverty rate for persons living in Marietta is 25.2%, more than 39 percent greater than the poverty level across the entire state of Oklahoma. During the pandemic, as a result of closed schools and persons working from home, water usage surpassed safety thresholds.

PERFORMANCE MEASURING

Project performance will be measured through the increase in water production and storage capacity, through the opportunity for new connections, and by increased water pressure for residential, commercial, industrial and fire protection uses.
