PROJECT PURPOSE

To perform a Statewide upgrade to modernized infrastructure at 23 prison facilities and the Oklahoma Correctional Institute to mitigate system failures, increase productivity, offender educational opportunities, and security by implementing an automated method for monitoring network equipment and quality of service. In addition, modernization would meet State Security Compliance regulations. The Department of Corrections ability to modernize and reliably operate is greatly impeded because of switching and network infrastructure that is up to 15 years old. ?Reduces the spread of COVID-19via automation. ?Fewer site visits ?Faster reporting ?Meets Compliance requirements ?Enhanced Security ?Improved Life-Safety Capabilities ?Improve offender education opportunities. As it pertains to CARES, this solution will help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 by reducing site visits that require network technicians to move throughout the offender and corrections employee population to troubleshoot aged network and switching equipment.
