PROJECT PURPOSE
The Manning State Fish Hatchery (MSFH) located in Medicine Park, OK is currently without a dependable water source. A project is currently underway to construct a pumping station on Medicine Creek that will supply water to the hatchery. However, additional funds are needed to construct a reservoir and water return system to conserve water and guarantee a stable water source for the hatchery.
EVIDENCE
Since 2015 numbers of fish produced at MSFH have been a fraction of what they were when the hatchery was fully operational.
POPULATION DESCRIPTION
Oklahoma anglers statewide will benefit from this program because the additional fish produced are stocked throughout the state, thus enhancing the quality of recreational fishing.
