PROJECT PURPOSE

Construct Cafeteria, Food Service and Warehouse, expand Dining area to provide better separation and social distancing.

EVIDENCE

Not only will this assist with COVID-19 mitigation by limiting exposure among youth from different housing units, it will also assist with keeping rival youth separated and assist with other forms of communicable illnesses that put youth and staff at risk and have a negative impact on treatment success.


POPULATION DESCRIPTION

This program has youth from all over the state. This project will greatly mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and other communicable illnesses. Without this food service configuration enhancement project, The 250 employees and 80 to 100 youth will be at a significantly higher risk. As illness spreads through the staff and youth, filling a shift adequately becomes a challenge and could impact the safety and security of the facility.

PERFORMANCE MEASURING

Replace existing cafeteria to provide separation of youth from different housing units and improve health & safety. Project performance will be measured by monitoring positive COVID-19 cases among youth at the facilities. This will also mitigate staff contracting COVID19 from youth.
