PROJECT PURPOSE
The purpose is to assure all the pipe, tanks and protective devices from Waurika Lake to the six member cites is upgraded, in good repair and ready for at least another 50 years of service. The project will replace pipe between Temple and Walters, Replace air-vacuum safety assemblies, replace teh water hammer prevention system, fix pipe exposures across creeks due to erosion, upgrade terminals and meters.
EVIDENCE
Pipe failure is very expensive. One failure of the larger pipe is typically $25,000 to fix and the smaller pipe is $5,000 or more. Additionally are the operating cost issues to the cities due to a water supply upset. Lastly, is the risk of a city running out of water due to supply interruption .
